Triple sheeting is more than just a trend; it’s a hygienic system that promises a fresh and inviting bed for your guests, assuring them of cleanliness and modern comfort. This technique is easy to manage for your housekeeping and laundry teams, and your guests will certainly appreciate the crisp, clean appearance of their sleeping quarters. Achieving the perfect triple sheeting look is as simple as utilizing three sheets and a blanket – all of which can be easily changed and laundered after each guest.
But how do you master this technique while ensuring that your rooms remain cozy and inviting? Let’s dive into the details.
Before you get started, you’ll need a few essential items:
Start from the Base
Begin by setting up the foundational layers correctly. Ensuring that these layers are smooth and in place is essential for the success of the top sheet.
Bed Bug Protector: Start with a bed bug protector to safeguard your mattress, as bed bug infestations are on the rise.
Mattress Topper: Add a luxurious mattress topper for enhanced guest comfort. Mattress toppers are considered a luxury by guests and provide an exceptional sleep experience.
Mattress Protector: To protect your mattress topper and mattress from stains and spills, use a mattress protector such as the Duo Plus mattress protector, featuring soft circular quilting and a noiseless waterproofing backing.
Selecting the Right Sheets
The choice of sheets is crucial, considering factors like durability, comfort, and presentation.
50/50 Polycotton Sheets: These are widely accepted as the standard in the hospitality industry, offering easy care and durability.
30/70 Polycotton Sheeting: If you prioritize guest comfort over laundry convenience, this option provides superior comfort but has a shorter lifespan.
Using the same sheeting for all three layers simplifies laundering, making storage, sorting, and changes quick and straightforward.
You can use duvet inners, boxed end quilts (such as our Sung Quilt), bedcovers, or blankets as a warmth layer. Your choice should align with your property’s style and guest preferences.
To complete the triple sheeting look, add a blanket, runner, or throw at the foot of the bed, complemented by cushions.
Start with a fitted or flat sheet on top of the base layers. Shake out the sheet until it evenly covers the bed. Pull it up from the head of the bed until it’s smooth and meets the headboard.
Add the warmth layer, ensuring the top hem is about 15 cm short of the headboard.
Place the third flat sheet over the blanket, sandwiching the warmth layer between two flat sheets.
Fold the top of the sheets back 15 cm, excluding the warmth layer.
Fold back another 15 cm, including the sheets and warmth layer, thus folding the sheets twice and the warmth layer only once.
Tuck in both top sheets and the blanket, creating neat “hospital” corners at the foot of the bed.
Place the pillows on the bed.
Finish with additional blankets, runners, throws, and coordinating cushions.
