BACKGROUND
Located in the heart of the city, Ramada by Wyndham opened its doors to the public in June 2021. Within walking distance of the Waterfront Walk, the Museum, and the restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops of lively Cuba Street and Courtenay Place this hotel is in the perfect location. With rooms arranged over 6 floors, featuring accommodation layouts from hotel and studio configurations to self-contained multi-bedroom options, and one and two-bedroom apartments. Designed to suit leisure and business travelers alike, with in-house facilities such as a 24-hour gym, conference rooms, premium beds, and bedding, this hotel has it all.
THE PROJECT
Originally being the former Ricoh offices that were built in 2010, resource consents were lodged for alterations in December 2020. Planning and building were started, and the project was completed with the doors opening in June 2021. It is the first Ramada-branded hotel in Wellington. Account Manager Michael Boakes was contacted by Furn-Niche (an Australian-based interior design company) to help with the fit-out project and having worked with them on similar Ramada hotel projects, Michael knew exactly what bedding and other items would be needed for the rooms. All the items had to be of high quality and needed to fit in with the brand standards the Ramada Group has.
PROBLEMS WE SOLVED / REASONS FOR PARTNERING WITH VENDELLA
Ramada chose Vendella as their supplier because we know how they operate as a group, and we understand their expectations. We were also able to deliver the items in good time before their opening date. We had the right range of products that they were looking for and having worked with Furn-Niche on other Ramada Hotel projects, they trusted us to get the job done in an efficient and timely manner.
