BACKGROUND
With it’s prime location on the banks of the Waikato river, ibis Hotel offers well appointed rooms with city or river views and close proximity to the CBD. The hotel offers 126 well-appointed rooms spread over 7 floors, also with modern conference facilities and restaurant with balcony and views perfect for al fresco dining. ibis Tainui provides the perfect elements for those on business or leisure, with single and double rooms available. Many of the Accor Group hotels have been used as MIQ isolation facilities and have now been transitioned back to welcoming guests. With ibis coming out of 20 months of MIQ use, it was in need of a full refurbishment.
THE PROJECT
Having a long-standing relationship with the Accor Group, Vendella were called upon for the many items the Hotel needed for its refurbishment. Trust and communication played a big role with supplying Ibis Hamilton and the other hotels in the group, and this was certainly evident as the refurbishment proceeded. To aide in their project, we held their stock in our dispatch warehouse and delivered it as it was needed by the hotel staff. With the hotel having 126 rooms to refurbish and refresh, it was a huge task to undertake which was made a lot easier by our flexible delivery options.
PROBLEMS WE SOLVED / REASONS FOR PARTNERING WITH VENDELLA
While the hotel wasn’t quite ready to take delivery of their new linen and towels, we were able to hold their orders, and dispatch them when they needed the goods. Having a long-term relationship with the group, they knew that they could trust us. The Accor Group as a whole are very compassionate about sustainability. From the product we have supplied to them over the years, they have collectively helped to recycle 834,452 plastic bottles through our DreamGreen Initiative.
