With the recent completion of a multi-million-dollar refurbishment, Rydges North Sydney has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a sleek and contemporary hotel. Formerly known as The Miller Hotel, its ownership remains committed to innovative enhancements that elevate the guest experience, ensuring that the property remains at the forefront of North Sydney’s competitive hotel market.

Situated in the heart of North Sydney, Rydges North Sydney offers guests an unparalleled location with easy access to the bustling Sydney CBD, just five minutes away via the new Victoria Cross Metro Station, located just 50 meters from the hotel. Guests are within walking distance of Sydney Harbour, offering a serene escape from the city’s energetic pace. The area surrounding the hotel is lively and inviting, with an abundance of cafes, restaurants, and bars nearby. Whether staying for business or leisure, guests can easily explore Sydney’s attractions thanks to the hotel’s proximity to various public transport options, including trains, buses, and ferries.

The Partnership

Rydges North Sydney recently completed a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of what was formerly The Miller Hotel. Driven by a vision to enhance guest experiences and strengthen the hotel’s position as a leader in the North Sydney market, the owners wanted to offer a unique and elegant stay. During the planning phase, Marty from Vendella met with Simon Chadbourne, one of Rydges’ Area General Managers in Sydney, to discuss how Vendella’s products could be integrated into the project.

Vendella’s diverse portfolio, including pillows, split bedding, quilts, and mattress toppers, aligned perfectly with Rydges North Sydney’s varied room offerings, from bunk beds to large king beds. After a successful on-site meeting at the property, samples were provided to the previous General Manager, Jono, who then collaborated with the hotel’s owners to finalize the selection. Following approval, Vendella’s products became integral to the refurbishment, with the contract signed and preparations underway. Even when unexpected delays occurred, the Vendella team were able to provide exceptional service by storing the products free of charge in their warehouses until the hotel was ready to proceed. This helped the Rydges team ensure a smooth transition as the upgraded rooms were brought back online.

Mitch spoke of the service; “Marty, Celine, the team have been very accommodating, very attentive. If there’s any other problems or issues, we can pick up the phone and get a response right away. And the ability to get their product to the hotel is timely and efficient. So big thank you.”

In addition to quality and comfort, Rydges North Sydney were impressed with the sustainability aspect of the DreamGreen products.

“Vendella and the DreamGreen initiative stood out to us from once we saw Marty and the team’s product of how they actually transitioned the plastic bottles, into the fabrication of the bedding and the pillows. We saw that opportunity because it could enhance our guests’ experience without sacrificing on their overall experience of the hotel, their bedding and sleep at night, but also how that sustainability improved the overall product could drive us forward in a leading market.”

To date Rydges North Sydney have recycled over 30,000 plastic bottles, diverting them from oceans and landfill. This has helped them to meet key metrics in guest comfort, innovation and sustainability,
